Helping people find clarity, regulation and boundaries after difficult relationships and loss.

Background
About
I'm Andy Fish, a trauma informed coach and author working with people whose past experiences are still shaping how they respond to the present, whether that's hypervigilance, overthinking, people pleasing, difficulty trusting others, or strong reactions to conflict.
My path into coaching wasn't purely academic. Alongside various certifications in mental health, adult social care and trauma informed coaching, I bring over 25 years in senior management roles, including project management and leading diverse teams across various industries and agencies. That combination shapes how I work: I understand not just individual psychology, but how people function under pressure, within teams, and through major life change.
I've also navigated parental alienation and grief firsthand. That experience gives me a genuine, grounded understanding of disrupted relationships, loss and the lasting effects difficult experiences can have. I draw on it carefully, keeping every conversation focused on your situation rather than my own.
Clients trust me because I don't rush, label, or push disclosure before someone's ready. I also write extensively on psychology and emotional health, including narcissistic abuse, gaslighting, trauma bonding and nervous system regulation, through my Knowledge Hub and published books, bringing an evidence led, plain English approach to complex psychological concepts.

What sets me apart
Why Choose Andy
I combine over 25 years of senior leadership experience with trauma-informed training and lived understanding of ambiguous loss, family separation and parental alienation, not just theory. I'm also a published author, writing evidence-led, plain-English guides on psychology and emotional health through my Knowledge Hub and books. That mix of real-world leadership, lived experience and clear professional boundaries means clients get calm, practical support grounded in both credibility and genuine empathy.
Methodology
My Coaching Approach
My approach is trauma informed, calm, and paced entirely around the individual. This is not therapy, and I don't diagnose or treat PTSD or other mental health conditions. Where specialist clinical support is needed, I always point clients toward the right place for that. What coaching offers instead is space to slow down, understand your patterns without shame or labels, and rebuild a sense of choice, boundaries and agency.
Sessions are collaborative. You decide what's relevant, what you're ready to discuss, and what you want to work toward. There's no pressure to disclose your full story before we begin.
A typical session moves through four stages: understanding where you are now, recognising what's keeping old patterns active, separating past protective responses from present day choices, and turning that insight into practical, manageable next steps. Clients can expect a calm, non judgemental space, practical tools for regulation and boundaries, and steady progress at their own pace, not mine.
Best Fit
Who I Help
I work best with people navigating prolonged emotional strain from difficult relationships, separation, or family conflict, particularly where the situation involves ambiguous loss: grieving a relationship or connection that hasn't fully ended, with no clear resolution or closure in sight.
Many of my clients are dealing with the aftermath of manipulation, coercive dynamics, or parental alienation, and are carrying hypervigilance, overthinking, difficulty trusting, or a constant sense of being on guard. Others are professionals or people in leadership roles who are managing significant personal upheaval while still needing to function, lead, and make decisions under pressure.
What they're usually looking for isn't a diagnosis or a fix for the past. It's help regulating overwhelming emotions, understanding why certain patterns keep showing up, rebuilding boundaries and trust in their own judgement, and finding a steadier, more deliberate way to move forward, on their terms and at their pace.

What I offer
Services
Individual Coaching Session
A calm, one-to-one coaching session focused on understanding patterns shaped by difficult past experiences, whether that's hypervigilance, overthinking, people pleasing, or strong reactions to conflict. Sessions are collaborative and paced around you: there's no pressure to disclose more than you're ready to. We work through understanding where you are now, recognising what's keeping old patterns active, and turning insight into practical, manageable next steps. Not sure where to begin? A free 10-minute introductory call is available first, with no obligation. This is trauma-informed coaching, not therapy, and does not diagnose or treat PTSD or other mental health conditions.
Free Introductory Call
A free, no-obligation 10-minute private call to ask questions, explain what's happening for you, and see whether this coaching approach feels right before committing to anything further. No pressure, just a gentle first step.
Focused Coaching Session
A focused 30-minute session for addressing a specific situation, question or decision. Ideal if you have something particular on your mind and want clarity without committing to a full session. Collaborative, calm and paced around you, with no pressure to share more than you're ready to.
Extended Coaching Session
A longer 120-minute session for when a situation needs more time and space to properly untangle. Useful for working through a complex or layered issue in one sitting rather than across multiple shorter sessions. Calm, structured and entirely paced around what you need.
