Background
About
I’m Helena, the founder of Helena’s Haven, and my path into coaching grew from a combination of academic background in psychology, sociology, and forensics along with professional experience and a deeply personal understanding of what it means to navigate difficult seasons of life. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside people facing complex circumstances, transitions, recovery, and barriers that can make it difficult to see a way forward. Those experiences shaped the kind of coach I wanted to become: someone who doesn’t simply give advice, but creates a space where people feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood.
I’m especially passionate about grief and loss, trauma, women’s empowerment, confidence and mindset, addiction recovery, and supporting teens and young adults. I believe loss is much bigger than death; it can include relationships, identity, dreams, stability, health, or the life we thought we were going to have. I love helping people navigate those moments while also helping them rediscover their confidence, recognize their strengths, establish boundaries, and begin building a life that feels like their own again. With young adults and teens, I especially value creating a space where they can speak honestly without feeling judged or expected to have everything figured out.
What drives me is the belief that your hardest chapter does not get to define your entire story. I don’t believe healing is linear, and I don’t believe there is a single formula for getting better. Sometimes progress is a major breakthrough, and sometimes it’s simply finding enough strength to take the next step. My approach is warm, honest, person-centered, and trauma-informed. I’m not here to tell you who you should be or hand you a one-size-fits-all solution; I’m here to help you understand where you are, identify what you need, and work toward where you want to go.
Clients trust me because I meet them where they are. I bring professional knowledge and experience, but I also bring authenticity and the willingness to sit with the uncomfortable parts of life without trying to rush someone through them. You never have to arrive with the perfect words, a five-year plan, or everything figured out. You can simply arrive as you are. From there, we can work together to find your next step. 🤍
✨I am an honored recipient of the 2025 Global Recognition Award, the 2026 Excellence in Healthcare Award and the 2027 Excellence in Healthcare Award. Recognizing my groundbreaking innovations for non-traditional approaches to the whole person.

Methodology
My Coaching Approach
My Coaching Approach
My coaching approach is individualized, collaborative, and deeply person-centered. I don’t believe clients should have to fit themselves into a predetermined program or framework simply because that is how a practice operates. Instead, I use an integrative approach that may draw from REBT, CBT, DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, expressive arts, goal planning, reflective exercises, and interactive feedback, depending on what is appropriate and meaningful for the individual. My goal is not to tell you what your healing should look like, but to help you discover what works for you.
What Does a Session Look Like?
There is no rigid script for a session. A typical session may include talking through what has been happening, identifying patterns in thoughts or behaviors, working through a specific challenge, developing practical coping strategies, setting or revisiting goals, practicing mindfulness, or using expressive tools such as music, art, poetry, writing, or other creative exercises when those approaches feel helpful. I provide interactive feedback throughout the process, while making sure you remain an active participant in deciding what we focus on and where we go next.
Your Plan Is Built Around You!
I create deeply customizable coaching plans based on your goals, circumstances, strengths, preferences, and pace. We may begin with a framework and adjust it as we learn what works and what doesn’t. Your needs can change, and your coaching plan can change with you. I follow a model and framework that fits the individual, rather than expecting the individual to fit my practice. That flexibility is at the heart of Helena’s Haven: there is no one-size-fits-all version of healing, growth, confidence, recovery, or change. My job is to help you find the tools and approach that make sense for your life.
Best Fit
Who I Help
My ideal clients are men, women, and non-binary individuals ages 13 and up who are navigating significant life challenges and are looking for compassionate, individualized support that may fall outside of traditional approaches. I especially enjoy working with clients experiencing grief and loss, addiction and recovery, relationship challenges, burnout, trauma, women’s empowerment, self-confidence, mindset struggles, and major life transitions. I work particularly well with people who are open to exploring creative and non-traditional approaches to growth and healing and who want a coaching relationship that is collaborative rather than one-size-fits-all. Most of my practice is virtual, so I’m an especially good fit for clients who prefer the comfort, flexibility, and accessibility of meeting online; in-person availability is very limited.
I welcome clients across a broad range of life stages, including teens ages 13–17, adults ages 18–65, and adults 65+. I do not accept clients under 13. For clients ages 13–17, a parent or legal guardian must complete the required intake paperwork and participate in the first half of the Foundation Session. This allows the parent or guardian to understand the coaching process, financial responsibility, their role, and the boundaries surrounding a minor’s privacy and confidentiality. My goal is to create a space where younger clients can feel heard and respected while also ensuring parents and guardians understand the responsibilities and limitations involved in coaching a minor.
Above all, I work best with people who are ready for a personalized approach and who don’t want to be placed into a predetermined box. You don’t need to know exactly what you need before reaching out. If you’re facing something difficult, want to understand yourself better, or are ready to make meaningful changes but aren’t sure where to begin, Helena’s Haven is designed to meet you where you are and build from there.
