Background

About

I have always been drawn to understanding people—what shapes us, how we respond to difficult experiences, and what helps us grow through the challenges we face. With a background in psychology and years of experience supporting others, my work as a Stress Management & Resilience Coach grew from a genuine desire to help people feel less overwhelmed, better understand themselves, and develop healthier ways of navigating life's challenges.

My approach is compassionate, supportive, and practical. I understand that stress doesn't happen in isolation. It can affect our confidence, relationships, decisions, emotional well-being, and even the way we see ourselves. I help clients slow things down, make sense of what they're experiencing, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving them, and develop tools they can use in their everyday lives.

I work with individuals navigating stress and overwhelm, difficult or unhealthy relationships, life transitions, challenges with confidence and self-trust, and the emotional weight that can come with trying to manage everything at once. My goal isn't to tell clients how they should live their lives. Instead, I provide a supportive space where they can feel heard, gain perspective, reconnect with their own strengths, and take meaningful steps toward the changes they want to make.

What drives me most is seeing what can happen when someone begins to believe in themselves again. Sometimes a new perspective, a practical coping strategy, or simply having a place to talk openly can make an important difference. I believe growth doesn't have to happen all at once. Small, intentional steps can create meaningful change over time, and I consider it a privilege to support people as they build greater resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being.

What sets me apart

Why Choose Melissa

What sets me apart is my background in psychology, years of coaching experience, and a compassionate, practical approach that goes beyond simply setting goals. I help clients understand the patterns, thoughts, relationships, and stressors affecting their well-being while developing practical tools to create meaningful change. My goal is to help clients build greater resilience, confidence, and self-trust so they feel better equipped to navigate life’s challenges.

Methodology

My Coaching Approach

My coaching approach is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to each person. I draw from my background in psychology along with evidence-informed strategies related to stress management, resilience, mindfulness, cognitive and behavioral patterns, healthy boundaries, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we focus on what you are experiencing, what you would like to change, and the tools and perspectives that may be most helpful for you.

A typical session begins with a conversation about what has been happening in your life and what feels most important to address that day. Sometimes that may be managing stress or feeling overwhelmed; other times we may explore a difficult relationship, a recurring pattern, challenges with confidence or self-trust, or a situation that has been weighing heavily on you. Together, we look beneath the immediate problem to better understand what may be contributing to it and identify practical ways to move forward.

Depending on your needs, our work may include stress-management and relaxation techniques, mindfulness practices, identifying and reframing unhelpful thought patterns, strengthening boundaries, improving coping strategies, building resilience, increasing self-awareness, and developing greater confidence and self-trust. I may also suggest simple exercises or strategies you can practice between sessions so that what we discuss becomes useful in your everyday life.

Most importantly, I want coaching to feel like a place where you can speak openly without feeling judged or pressured. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out. My role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, offer insight and practical tools, and help you recognize your own strengths and choices. We work at a pace that feels comfortable while taking meaningful steps toward greater clarity, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Best Fit

Who I Help

Many of the people I work with are navigating ongoing stress, major life changes, difficult or unhealthy relationships, challenges with boundaries, or experiences that have caused them to question their confidence and self-trust. You may find yourself overthinking situations, putting other people's needs ahead of your own, repeating patterns you would like to change, or knowing that something in your life needs to be different but feeling unsure about where to begin.

You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. You may simply know that you're tired of feeling stuck or overwhelmed and want a supportive place to sort through what you're experiencing. My ideal client is someone who is open to gaining greater self-awareness, learning practical tools, exploring new perspectives, and taking small, meaningful steps toward positive change.

Our work is about helping you feel more grounded and confident in yourself—not becoming a completely different person. Together, we can work toward managing stress more effectively, building resilience, strengthening boundaries, trusting yourself and your decisions, creating healthier relationship patterns, and developing a greater sense of emotional well-being. The goal is for you to leave coaching with practical tools and a stronger belief in your ability to navigate life's challenges.
