Coach comparison scorecard

Use this scorecard when you are comparing two or more coaches and need a clear, practical way to decide who actually fits your goal, budget, style, and scope.

How to use this scorecard

1. Shortlist

Pick 2–4 coaches whose profiles appear relevant to your goal.

2. Score after calls

Use the scorecard after discovery calls, not just from profile copy.

3. Choose fit

Choose the coach with the clearest goal fit, process, boundaries, and logistics.

Score each coach from 1 to 5

A coach does not need to be perfect. You are looking for the clearest fit for your current goal and the safest, most realistic working relationship.

Questions to ask on a discovery call

  • What kinds of clients or goals do you work with most often?
  • What happens after the first session if I continue?
  • How do you help clients stay accountable between sessions?
  • How do you measure progress without making unrealistic promises?
  • What is outside your scope as a coach?
  • What would make someone a poor fit for your coaching style?

How to interpret your score

24–30: strong fit. Confirm pricing, schedule, policies, and next steps before buying a package.

18–23: possible fit. Ask follow-up questions before committing.

Under 18: keep looking unless one specific category is easy to resolve.

This scorecard is a decision aid, not a guarantee. Coaching is not emergency care, medical care, therapy, legal advice, or financial advice.
