Bamenda is the capital of Cameroon’s North-West Region and spans Bamenda I, II, and III subdivisions rather than a single neighborhood. Regional or national evidence is not automatically city-specific. Current conflict conditions make even that geography secondary to safety: the U.S. State Department’s May 15, 2026 advisory says not to travel to the North-West Region because of terrorism, unrest, crime, kidnapping, and explosive-device risk.
