Equatorial Guinea's official government profile identifies Bata as the capital of Litoral Province and also as a center of the Continental Region. It is not the national capital. Malabo is the national capital, so any source or provider that calls Bata the capital of Equatorial Guinea is using a materially misleading denominator. Bata city, Bata district, Litoral Province, the wider mainland or Río Muni area, and the country are also different geographic units. The national statistics institute, INEGE, publishes enterprise and population tables at province and district levels; those figures cannot be presented as exact-city demand, income, customer behavior, or a personal circumstance. This page uses them only to explain why a provider must label the denominator and verify current local facts.
INEGE's 2020 enterprise census reported counts by province and district, including Litoral and Bata district.
