This route refers to Al Hudaydah city—also written Hodeida or Al Hodeidah—at the Red Sea coast, within Al Hawak District and serving as the capital of Al Hudaydah Governorate. It is not the whole governorate, the port alone, or every community on the coast. United Nations mapping and the geographical hierarchy distinguish the city from the governorate. That identity passes the route gate, but it does not make ordinary access assumptions safe. The FCDO advice current on August 27, 2026 advises against all travel to Yemen and says conditions are unpredictable. A regional-capital label means Al Ḩudaydah is an administrative center, not that every 08 coach meets there.
