Local context
The City of Edmonton identifies Edmonton as Alberta's capital, and its facts-and-figures page reports a 2021 census population of 1,010,899 within the city denominator. That is not the same as the Edmonton Metropolitan Region, every surrounding municipality, or a current estimate of who wants coaching. The city's 2025 Business Census identified 29,894 establishments employing 575,197 people, with small businesses representing 97 percent of establishments. Those figures can frame questions about work, leadership, entrepreneurship, and changing routines; they cannot prove a vacancy, salary, customer, promotion, business survival rate, or individual outcome.
