Local context
Mekele, also written Mek'ele, is the capital of Ethiopia's Tigray regional state and has its own city administration. The World Bank's city diagnostic describes a municipality organized into sub-cities and kebeles, while a 2025 World Bank procurement plan names Mekelle City activities separately from the executing Tigray regional bureau. This route therefore concerns the current city administration. It does not turn a Tigray regional statistic, programme total, road project, university notice, health update, or humanitarian estimate into an exact-city fact. Administrative labels and access can change, so a reader should verify the responsible institution, present date, place, eligibility, and contact channel directly.
Mekele planning also requires unusually strict limits.
