Sinop is a current Black Sea city, a municipality, and the seat of Sinop Province. The shared name creates an easy evidence error. The governorate's administrative page describes eight other districts and province-wide municipalities, villages, and public staffing, while Sinop Municipality's current contact and planning material concern the municipal organization and urban services. A provincial announcement about Ayancık, Boyabat, Gerze, or another district cannot be presented as an opportunity inside Sinop city. Even a source labeled Sinop may refer to the province, central district, university, or municipality.
